The Department of Islamic History & Culture is the oldest department of the faculty of Humanities & Social Science. It started functioning at the inception of the University in February 26, 1991. Founding Chairman Nur Mohammad Miah is a reputed Professor.
The Chairman shall have the responsibility to plan and co-ordinate the work of the Department. The Chairman shall be responsible to the Faculty for the organization and teaching in his Department subject to such directions as may be given from time to time by the Vice-Chancellor.
