Message From the Chairman
The Department of English is a centre of excellence in teaching and research. Since its inception in 1990, it has developed into one of the largest and most prominent departments at the university and the country. It offers four programmes, i.e. Honours, Master’s, M.Phil and PhD. The department is committed to providing students with excellent learning and education in English language and literature. It also fosters interdisciplinary ties with Continental, African, Latin American and South Asian literatures. The department houses a constellation of renowned academics, researchers and creative writers of considerable accomplishment. The curricula are of international standard and are designed to create opportunities for the learners to grow competent with adequate theoretical knowledge and practical skills in all sorts of communication, critical thinking and creative writing. The department is also equipped with state-of-the-art technological facilities. The Department of English always faithfully endeavours to achieve international benchmarks in education and research. The Department has a fervent eagerness to engage in fruitful collaboration and reciprocal partnership with world-class universities across the globe.
